Clare Ardern
Dr. Clare Ardern is an Australian-trained physiotherapist and senior researcher in sports medicine. She has worked in Australia, Qatar and Sweden, and currently works at Karolinska Institute, Stockholm. Her research has focused on (i) return to sport after injury (rates, determinants of success, improving the clinical approach) and (ii) how high-caliber meta-research (including systematic reviews, network meta-analyses, and clinical practice guidelines) can help clinicians make quality decisions. Dr. Ardern was part of an international team that wrote the 2016 Consensus Statement on Return to Play—a statement that is endorsed by the International Federation of Sports Physical Therapy (IFSPT)—and the 2018 International Olympic Committee Consensus Statement on Management of Paediatric ACL injuries. Dr. Ardern is Editor-in-Chief of Journal of Orthopaedic & Sports Physical Therapy. Follow her on Twitter @clare_ardern and @JOSPT.
Rich Willy
Dr. Richard Willy is an Associate Professor in the School of Physical Therapy, University of Montana (Missoula, MT, USA). He received his PhD in Biomechanics and Movement Science from the University of Delaware and his master of physical therapy from Ohio University. In addition to his research, Dr. Willy has been a clinician for 18 years specializing in the treatment of the injured runner. His research aims to develop clinically effective treatments for patellofemoral pain syndrome, Achilles tendon injuries and tibial stress fractures. Besides publishing in peer-reviewed journals, Dr. Willy is a national and international presenter on his research and clinical expertise on how to evaluate and treat the injured runner. Dr. Willy and his research have been featured in Runner’s World multiple times.
Dustin Grooms
Dr. Grooms is an Associate Professor in the Division of Athletic Training in the School of Applied Health Sciences and Wellness at Ohio University. His doctorate is in health and rehabilitation sciences from the Ohio State University. He has clinical experience as an athletic trainer and strength coach and has degrees in athletic training, kinesiology, biomechanics and neuroscience. Currently his main research interest is how the brain and movement mechanics change after musculoskeletal injury and therapy.
